Tendre est une installation vidéo constituée de deux frises d’images synchronisées. Ces deux chaînes d’images ont été produites en utilisant la recherche d’images par le contenu de manière récursive (procédé proche du principe de l’anadiplose : reprise d’un mot ou d’une image à la fin d’une suite pour débuter la suivante). Pour ce faire, deux images initiales ont été utilisées. La première a été extraite de l’épisode 2 – saison 2 de la série états-unienne Homeland. Celle-ci, censée représenter une rue de Beyrouth, Hamra – mais en réalité filmée à Haifa en Israël –, montre, dans une rue étroite et peu achalandée, des hommes en armes debout dans une fourgonnette. La deuxième provient du résultat obtenu en tapant « Hamra » dans un moteur de recherche. À partir de ces deux images initiales, des séries d’anadiploses ont été construites en utilisant chaque résultat de recherche d’image par le contenu comme nouveau point de départ pour une nouvelle recherche, et ce, jusqu’à aboutir à une image présentant une situation et une ambiance proche de la seconde image initiale (séries d’anadiploses commençant par l’image de Homeland pour s’approcher de l’image de Hamra et inversement). En d’autres termes, les deux séries d’anadiploses ont été orientées pour attendrir la représentation de Hamra montrée dans Homeland et tendre la situation découverte dans la représentation de Hamra trouvée grâce à un moteur de recherche.

Tendre is a video installation consisting of two synchronized image chains. These two chains of images were produced using the recursive search for images by content (a process close to the principle of anadiplosis: taking up a word or an image at the end of a sequence to start the next one). To do this, two initial images were used. The first one was extracted from the episode 2 – season 2 of the American series Homeland. This one, supposedly representing a street in Beirut, Hamra – but actually filmed in Haifa, Israel – shows, in a narrow and not very busy street, men with weapons standing in a van. The second is from the result of typing « Hamra » into a search engine. From these two initial images, series of anadiploses were constructed using each content-based image search result as a new starting point for a new search, until an image with a situation and atmosphere close to the second initial image was found (series of anadiploses starting with the Homeland image and approaching the Hamra image and vice versa). In other words, the two series of anadiploses were oriented to soften the representation of Hamra shown in Homeland and to soften the situation discovered in the representation of Hamra found through a search engine.
